Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva Way of Life: Bodhicitta and Wisdom
with Geshe Thubten Sherab

We are delighted to welcome back Geshe Sherab to our center for a weekend of teachings.  Geshe-la will cover two topics from Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva Way of Life (Bodhisattvacaryavatara): bodhicitta and wisdom.  In the past he already taught on two other topics, patience and joyful effort.
Schedule:
Bodhicitta
Friday, 2/21, 7:00pm–9:00pm
Bodhicitta is the aspiration to become enlightened in order to benefit all sentient beings.  As soon as we develop bodhicitta, we become a son or daughter of the Buddha:

Should bodhicitta come to birth
In those who suffer, chained in prisons of samsara,
In that instant they are called the children of the Blissful One,
Revered by all the world, by gods and humankind.
Ultimate Bodhicitta
Saturday, 2/22
     10am-12pm: teaching
     12pm-1:30pm: light lunch (provided)
     1:30pm-2:30pm: teaching
     2:30pm-3:00pm: tea break
     3:00pm-4:00pm: teaching

Sunday, 2/23
     10am-12pm: teaching
     12pm-1:30pm: light lunch (provided)
     1:30pm-2:30pm: teaching
     2:30pm-3:00pm: tea break
     3:00pm-4:00pm: teaching
Wisdom supported by bodhicitta is also called ultimate bodhicitta.  It is a realization of the nature of reality.  Without wisdom the true practice of bodhicitta is not possible and we cannot put an end to the suffering of samsara:

All these branches of the Doctrine
The Enlightened Sage expounded for the sake of wisdom.
Therefore they must cultivate this wisdom
Who wish to have an end of suffering.
