Lhabab Duchen, one of the four great holy days of the Buddhist calendar,
takes place this year on November 1st.
Geshe Legtsok will lead the Shakyamuni Buddha Puja on this auspicious day.
Lhabab Duchen celebrates Shakyamuni Buddha’s return to Earth
from the God Realm of the Thirty-Three,
where he spent three months teaching the Dharma to the
gods—including his mother, Mayadevi,
who had passed away shortly after his birth and been reborn there.
Out of great compassion, the Buddha returned to Earth to continue
guiding sentient beings.
As a merit‑multiplying day,
the karmic results of actions performed on Lhabab Duchen are said
to be multiplied 100 million times, according to the vinaya text
Treasure of Quotations and Logic.
It is a powerful opportunity to engage in virtue,
make offerings, and dedicate prayers for all beings.
All are welcome.
