Full job description Director will be responsible for:
understanding the non-profit legal structure/By-Laws/Affiliation agreement;
serving the gurus and the missions of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe;
supporting the SPC in creating a robust calendar of teachings, meditation, practices and retreats in line with FPMT standard education programs;
organization, coordination and motivation of the volunteer team to work for the fulfillment of the Board’s vision and goals;
ensuring frequent communication with FPMT Regional Coordinator, International office, and other FPMT centers;
overseeing the financial health of the center as well as ensuring that the technical infrastructure and physical location are maintained suitably;
ensuring the Center’s adherence to the FPMT’s legal and ethical guidelines as well as compliance with local laws and regulations; and
implementing the activities necessary to attain the goals for the center as decided by the Board.
Personally, the new director should:
have an established dharma practice and good knowledge of FPMT; familiarity with OCBC and its sponsored activities is optional, but preferred
be willing to make 2 year commitment to the position
have good organizational skills and be competent and enthusiastic about coordination; and encouraging harmony, communication and cooperation of all groups at the center
be patient, open-minded and team-oriented.
