Applying Mind Training to Your Life
Mind Training is a translation of the Tibetan term Lo-jong (also called Thought Transformation) – a genre of Buddhist practice that aims to use problems as one’s path to enlightenment.
Venerable Drimay will focus on a specific text “Leveling out all false conceptions” taught by Lama Serlingpa, brought to Tibet by Lama Atisha and translated into English by Geshe Thubten Jinpa.
A verse from the text reads:
Level out all false conceptions
Venerable Drimay will tease out techniques from this text that will help us in dealing with life’s problems. At first, you might be most interested in getting rid of your problems, but as your Mind Training skills improve, you will eventually look forward to problems as a chance to practice.
A hardcopy of the specific text “Leveling out all false conceptions” will be provided.
The book, Essential Mind Training, by Geshe Thubten Jinpa (Wisdom Publications) would be useful (but not required) for you to have.
Come meet together with other brave people to discuss how to practice Mind Training and to report back from your real-life experience.
Everyone is welcome!
